Chairs in the Desert – Roadside rest stop along U.S. 85, southwestern AZ
A Wild Hair
People don’t know what to think (well maybe they do, but their reactions seem measured) when I tell them I’ve driven across the U.S.
- By myself
- For three months
- Towing a small travel trailer
- Just for the heck of it
In late 2013, I got a wild hair up my ass about finally realizing my ongoing idea about driving across the country. Driving just to see what was there, beyond all the colored lines on the maps. Visiting locations from my youth, visiting relatives and old friends. Doing something completely different.
I started the first cross country trip in late March 2014. It turned out to be the longest trip, thus far.
